Wheels & Waves 11th Annual Classic & Hot Rod Show
Saturday May 15th & Sunday, May 16th
Saturday “Cruise” down State Street begins at 3:30 from Pershing Park
Sunday viewing on State Street (between Haley and Cota) from 9 am to 2 pm

California Strawberry Festival
Saturday May 15th & Sunday, May 16th
10 am to 6:30 pm 
Strawberry Meadows of College Park in Oxnard, CA
General admission = $12
Seniors (62+) = $8
Active military and dependents with ID = $8 (only available at entrance gate)
Children ages 5-12 = $5
Free for kids 4 and under

City at Peace presents “Masks”
Thursday to Saturday, May 20th to 22nd
7:30 pm
Center Stage Theater (751 Paseo Nuevo, Santa Barbara, CA 93101)
Admission is FREE to Teens with ID for the Thursday night performance. For more information, you can visit their Facebook event page: Facebook
In short, this is a “play about self-identity and the realities and unrealities of teens in Santa Barbara”. It’s entirely written and performed by a group of local junior high and high school students.
**If you want to attend this play with your mentee, please let your case manager know. We will fund your ticket if you attend on Thursday night, and fund both of your tickets if you go on Friday or Saturday night. Yes, we care that much.

On-Going Mentor Training: Knowing the Signs of Domestic Violence

Carpinteria Power of Parents workshop
Friday, May 28th • 6 to 8 pm
Girls Inc. (5315 Foothill Rd., Carpinteria, CA 93013)
This is not just for Carpinteria…it’s an opportunity for all caring adults to hear about real issues faced by youth in the community. Topics include: Bullying, Sexual Harassment, and Parent Enrichment. You can learn how to best communicate with your kids and open the dialogue about these important issues. There will also be a special performance by the Los Prietos “Drama Kings”. Bring your mentees along with you to let them know you are ready and willing to discuss these topics with them! You can also encourage your mentee's parents to attend!
If you need childcare your young ones, it will be provided free of charge.

I Madonnari Street Painting Festival
Saturday to Monday May 29th to May 31st
10 am to 6 pm
Old Mission Santa Barbara (Corner of Los Olivos & Laguna Street, Santa Barbara)
Artists use pastels on pavement to create beautiful large scale pieces of artwork to benefit the Children’s Creative Project.

You can also go anytime before then that week to watch the artists begin their creations or anytime after the festival until the weather wipes the paintings away.
