April "Mentor of the Month"

In an effort to recognize outstanding mentors, we have established "Mentor of the Month."

Each month we will recognize one mentor who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the life of their mentee.

This month's outstanding mentor is Mary Ann Helman.

Mary Ann mentors a 6th grader at Cleveland Elementary and has been with her mentee for two and a half years.

In addition to mentoring, Mary Ann is also a member of our Mentor Task Force where she has been instrumental in creating a variety of opportunities for our students, including the recent concert with local reggae band, Jah Bone.

As Mentor of the Month, Mary Ann will be receiving two tickets to the Santa Barbara Symphony. Great job, Mary Ann!! Keep up the good work!
